LIGHTNING RELEASES 02/10/14 – David Tlale showcased his Fall 2014 collection, “Elementary Metropolis” in New York City on Sunday, February 9, 2014. During a noon show at Lincoln Center, Tlale delivered a ready-to-wear collection that “hinged on accessible couture,” according to his shoe sponsor, Emily Mack Jamison, designer of Emy Mack Shoes.
Tlale presented tailored styles with neutral and beige tone dresses and pencil skirts. Dark blue hues, navy, and black were also prevalent themes and incorporated texture, like a leather bodice on one dress. The show eclipsed with well-crafted gowns. Sheer details and gem-tone embellishments gave substance to Tlale’s collection.
Emy Mack shoes rounded out Tlale’s collection. Each look was paired with footwear from the American brand. The Emy Mack brand showed high heels in silver and gunmetal snakeskin, black suede and silk mid-heels and even nude pointed-toe flats styled with one of Tlale’s long gowns.
Shoe designer Jamison says, “I could not have asked for a more talented designer to partner with at fashion week. Our shoes were showcased in the best possible way, yet didn’t take anything away from his masterpieces.”
Jamison goes on to assert, “So many designers show on the runway and their designs fall short at the feet. After all of the time and energy they pour into a collection, the shoes are almost a pre-show formality. Fortunately, David is so meticulous in his preparation that he sought out footwear that would do justice to his collection. We are beyond grateful that he chose Emy Mack. It was a win for everyone.”
Backstage after the show, one member of Tlale’s team was even overheard saying that Emy Mack’s shoes “were like angel dust” for Tlale’s collection.
Sunday’s runway show was David Tlale’s third appearance at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York. It was Emy Mack’s debut at New York Fashion Week.
